MCEE Alternative Download version & store version mismatch
I downloaded and installed the MCEE Alternate Download zip file version 1.4.0.0 (still the current version in the zip file), but ran into numerous problems when the Microsoft Store updated MCEE to version 1.7.0.0; is there a way to get an updated zipped version of 1.7.0.0 that will install for all users on a computer?
Also, is there a way to cleanly uninstall an old or broken version of MCEE?

I am running into this exact same problem this week with my students. One student computer now mysteriously has the updated 1.7 version. Now, anyone sitting at that computer cannot join the worlds of students using version 1.4 and vice versa. I was wondering how I can update all of my students to the newest version?

Yep same problem here. All our iPad's have auto updated, but no luck on the PC version. Now only half my students can join (you can imagine how well that is going down). I tried the download update on the MEE website which just brings you to the download Minecraft EE page. If i do that, I lose all the data and player work that has been saved.

Similar issues here. I have a Windows machine running 1.7.1 for work, but a Mac at home and in a lab for presentations downloaded the "latest version" yesterday supposedly but show they are running 1.7.0
I can't even open the imported world from the Windows machine on the Mac because it says "this game has been saved in a newer version. Unable to load world. Unable to connect." So frustrating.
