We had a similar problem, only the IPad's would update, we got a series of error messages from the Laptops and PC's ... support sent me an alternate link which also did not work, and the update button on MEE website just brought me to the ZIP, clean install ... As this was the only solution present, I installed a clean install, I save the world from the server end, where I was running it. This saved the map and buildings of the world, but unfortunately the world export data does not save player inventory, so ALL my students lost everything! You can imagine how well that went down. In MinecraftEDU when you save a world as server admin it saved player data as well, I think this should be an option at least in MEE ....

    Hi,

I problem I have is that the clean install solution is not working. I can run the install which says on the Powershell, Minecraft has been installed for all users. However, some user accounts I've tried either have No Minecraft or Minecraft 1.4 which shouldn't be possible because I fully uninstalled the program in the first place...

The only work around I found that worked was installing directly to the hard drive of each machine C: and powershell would only work for all users when I ran the installer from there. I also went into the folder that comes with the .zip and ran it from the application exe ... ghis was the ONLY way it would work.

That's interesting.. I've ran the installer from a folder on the C: Drive on each device. Are you suggesting I just have the entire .zip on the c: drive instead of extracting it first?

    Cheers

Yes. But also try running it from the second exe file, it is buried one level down in one of the two folders that installs into the minecraft education folder. That was what worked for me. It's annoying as I had to rinse and repeat 60 times... but it worked.
