Custom NPC skins

It would be great if there was a wider range of NPC skins - or the ability to import custom skins.

I know that part of the problem would be that, even if you supported importing custom skins, the NPCs have different sizes/dimensions (like villagers) and so there are not a lot of skins available.

Perhaps, like with the worlds, educators could create their own skins for sharing on your website (e.g. Egyptian / Medieval / Stone Age etc). Maybe you could team up with a skin designing site (I know Tynker have a Skin Designer as part of their package) and allow educators to design and share their own NPC skins that would be useful to many different educators (using them for History etc)

    Agreed.

    I am wanting to create historical NPC's that my students can interact with and learn more about, such as George Washington or Martin Luther King Jr., etc. I did something similar when using Citizens 2 plugin for Minecraft for PC.

    Ability to use Player skins to customize NPCs

    I was hoping we could see the ability of players to customize NPCs using the already existing player skins that are available. This could expand the use of NPCs within lessons and also allow more creativity for the students.

      Was also wondering how I might do this ,or rather assumed I could but haven’t worked out how yet.

      Because I’m not an apple lover and I’m use to the flexibility of android.

    I have been using Minecraft in my classroom for 5 years and use it to teach early US history up to the Revolutionary War. Using custom NPCs I have been able to recreate many of the battles that took place to give the kids a fun way to remember some historical battles. It seems that in the new version of Minecraft that I am completely unable to do this.  Is this correct?

    Is there a way I can mod the NPC's on the education version like I can on the new windows 10 version? If not is there a way to allow the Custom NPC mod to be used again? That mod is worth its weight in gold in my classroom.

      Thanks for reaching out. The Education Edition only supports community-created mods mods. You can however move maps from Windows 10 to Education Edition. Please submit a request if you would like to further chat.
