I would like to know, is it possible to have parents set up MC EDU for their child, if not, parents should be able to.

As a parent of a 12-year old here's how I did this with my son. Together we downloaded M:EE to a home PC. He and I then sat down and logged into M:EE using his school account (his district has a license but he was not aware). We did a few lessons and created a few worlds just to make sure things were ok. From there he knows Minecraft well so now he's using it to invite some of his school mates to play in the M:EE worlds.
