As of right now, unless I am missing things, (which is entirely possible!) there is no simple way for a student in a Minecraft world to enter a numeric value as a solution to a problem. Considering that a student can create chemical compounds, blocks and execute code, I was wondering if there were a way to have students enter a numeric value as an answer to a problem.
This would be extremely valuable to enhance the productivity of lessons in Minecraft worlds.
I was thinking that students could have a crafting-type table with sliders like the element creator to enter three digit values.
In this case, the operator of the world could have previously set this crafting table to have a particular value to be the correct integer response. A correct response could result in a consequence such as an electric charge, resulting in a opened door to progress in the game.
Another possible consequence could be that the table could distribute an item as selected by the operator as a reward. (with a message, as in, "You now have three emeralds!!!")
Thanks for considering this. Math teachers everywhere will love you.
