I have used the old Minecraft for Education for years on older desktops at our school. They are now all being replaced with Chromebooks, so the only way to use Minecraft in my class would be if it was available on Chromebooks. I have built a whole system of gamification for my classroom around our Minecraft use. It all gets tossed soon if I'm unable to run Minecraft at school. I use it to teach group work, social studies content and math content. PLEASE make it available on ChromeOS.

We have 14,000 chromebooks in our school district.  If Minecraft Edu was chromebook compatible, I could see us purchasing thousands of licenses.

Our entire school district is driven by Chromebooks. Current laptops being used for Minecraft will be gone at the end of this school year. Either Minecraft works on ChromeOS or we no longer use Minecraft.

I would pull our whole district into the network if we had this.  Chromebooks have such a low cost to replace and maintain if you don't get a grant you have to go with Chromes.  Please prioritize this.  Also low income families tend to have Chromes instead of real computers. Please give access to the poor families by making a Chrome App.  :)

Yes, please make Minecraft EDU chromebook compatible, we would pay whatever licensing fees it would cost. I used to use it with my classes on Windows laptops, but our district is moving away from Windows machines and toward Chrome OS. I know there would be a lot of users in our district of over 40 000 students.

I would love to see Minecraft accessible on Chrome devices.  Many of the schools in our district, mine included, are moving to Chromebooks.  I have been using Ed. edition on our desktops and laptops.  Having it on Chromebooks would make it accessible to so many more of our classrooms and students. I know it would be a big selling point if it was available on chrome devices in many of the schools in our districts.

Please let me know if anyone figures out a way to use on Chromebooks!  This would be very engaging for students and I was excited until I realized it will not work at my school in current form.

+1 for this from me. We have just bought 100 Chromebooks and more are due next year. It would be an excellent addition to the software we have and would definitely make me buy a licence for everyone.

I ran a Minecraft club for junior high students and incorporated Minecraft into math, science, language arts, and social studies before our computers ran on Windows 10.  We moved to Chromebooks a few years ago and were unable to continue using Minecraft.  All the students I worked with were extremely disappointed that Minecraft was gone.  I would love to have it back on the Chromebooks.  Students were, excited, engaged, and extremely creative when learning through Minecraft.  (And when they weren't looking, I had fun using it as well!)

I agree.  Almost all our student devices are Chromebooks now so this would make a huge difference in our ability to use Minecraft Education Edition.  Please do it sooner rather than later.

I 100% agree with being able to use this on chromebooks!  Our district is 1:1 in many schools too.

Oh goodness, yes. I see at least the OSX and iOS versions of MEE are based on PE. So is the Android version of Minecraft, which runs beautifully, at least on decent-spec Chromebooks with Android support... which is pretty much all of them manufactured in the last 2 years.

Next year my district is phasing out my laptops and replacing them with Chromebooks. My classroom revolves around Minecraft, so now I am trying to see if I can keep my laptops, but this means other teachers in my building will not be able to use Education Edition, or at least not like we have been.

When districts think of providing 1:1 tech to students, it is almost always done by using Chromebooks. We are seeing more and more districts go to a 1:1 model. Chromebooks are available through grants as well, which is appealing to districts to keep costs back.

We definitely need Education Edition on Chromebooks!

I know I am late to the game but my district is moving towards Chromebooks in the next year or two. I am desperate to use Minecraft in my classrooms. Please do this! I will beta or whatever needs to happen!

Absolutely! Education Edition NOT on a Chromebook would be a massive missed opportunity for Minecraft and schools everywhere. Pocket Edition was made to work on Chromebook's in the past, which means it is possible, but needed a Linux boot hack.

If there is any availability for us to test any Beta trials, please let us know.

A huge missed opportunity. Our primary school is 1:1 Chromebooks, almost no PCs, Macs or iPads any more. To have Minecraft EE available on Chromebooks would be fantastic. Please make it happen.

We have over 30,000 ChromeBooks in our district, and Minecraft for every 365 account....We don't have nearly enough iPads, Macs or PC's to get everyone going.  We are 1:1 ChromeBooks 3rd grade- 9th grade, and it would be so great to be able to see all of them utilizing Minecraft!  PLEASE make this happen!!!

We have been working so hard to get our classroom teachers on board with this and now we have chromebooks 2-12---we definitely need this so we can use MCEE with our kiddos who LOVE this creative expression of their learning! Please Please consider rolling this out ASAP!
