Dear Madam, Sir,
I am a current Professor at the University of Ottawa (Canada).
Because of the Covid-19 and as a personal challenge, with a colleague (Alexandre Lillo), we decided to re-create our faculty in the game Minecraft. We decided to use the Java edition. After trying the Education version, we thought it was too limited.
The Faculty is almost done in the game. The result is incredible (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpu5bZNEa8U). We want to share the result with our students (around 1000 students). Some of them might have Minecraft but definitely not all of them. We are considering buying licenses for them.
- Would it be possible to get a discount if we buy many licenses at the same time?
- Would it be possible to transfer our world created with the Java in the education edition? All of our students have access to Microsoft 365 (as students at the University of Ottawa).
We have designed the Faculty in the game as a promotional tool. We want the students to be able to visit their faculty even if they cannot be on campus. We are also thinking of making it a social tool (so that the students can meet in the game) and a pedagogical tool (by creating role-play games and activity online – we teach lawyers, so we think we can create some nice role-play in the game).
Thank you in advance for your help.
