Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with multiplayer. We are seeing a trend of multiplayer issues since the update and we are gathering info to help resolve.

Just had a few questions to help us support you further:

If you could double check everyone is on the latest same latest version. It will just take one that is not on the latest update, joinee or host, to make things behave unexpectedly.

What is the OS version of the joinees and host?
How many players would you say are affected?

    Hey Ayla!

You can download it here: https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started/download

Make sure you both download it and are on the same version!

    Thanks Danny

We had 3 out of 21 problems on iPads in our class this AM. We were able to get these 3 iPads into the world after an additional restart.

    • We restarted all devices before class, including host computer
    • Host Mac is on Big Sur
    • All iPads are iOS 16.3
    • iPads are 8th generation
    • Capacity 32gb - all have more than 4gb storage available
    • All are on Minecraft 1.19.52, including host computer and iPads
    • All are on the same WiFi

This afternoon class was a bit of a disaster.

    * Server computer bombed repeatedly after several restarts, showing the lines twice and endless saving once

    * Some students couldn't access inventory

Has there been an update this week?

    Hey Robert,

Thanks for the added info and the updates.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for the patience, the team is still looking into what could be occurring.

If you would feel comfortable supporting by generating packet captures and Fiddlers, I can bring us over to a ticket and we can continue the conversation there with more info. Packet captures help the team tremendously.

    Let us know!

Hi Danny - That would be fine.

If you can send us instructions on generating packet captures and fiddlers, we are happy to do this.

We switched from a 2020 Mac laptop to 2021 and our server seems to be running smoothly with 21 students.

We are wondering if our primary laptop does not have enough RAM to run the server.

Are you finding that certain computers with certain processors and a certain amount of RAM have fewer issues?

In the afternoon, our issues seemed to be on the iPad side.

Day One: About 5 out of 15 iPads could not access inventory and needed to be restarted. Eventually, everyone could work.

Day Two: 2 out of 15 iPads got hung up during the login process. App needed to be swiped out and students could log in after.

Thank you for letting us know what you've seen Robert. Can you let us know what the RAM size is that seems to work and ones that do not? We can try to investigate that aspect to see and as a heads up we have updated the system requirements page with OS versions and the like, if that helps.

Yes - 16GB of RAM. Apple M1 Pro. Running Ventura.

Afternoons on the east coast (NYC) seem to be worse than the mornings. For whatever reason, we have more issues later.

We had a difficult morning. We had to leave for 10 minutes for a fire drill. When we came back, we had to restart the server several times and some of the iPads 2 or 3 times to create a stable connection again.
