I had to restart multiple times everything that I upgraded to 1.19.52 in order for things to work correctly.

Hi, I have the exact same error so would love to also hear the fix for this.  We have tried restarting iPad, making sure IOS is up-to-date, deleting and then reinstalling app, making sure we have the latest version (5 days ago) and nothing works.  All other students in the class have this working and they are on the same school wifi network so it cannot be a wifi issue.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jenn and others,

My Technician may have found a solution.  The child's iPad had Content and Privacy Restrictions turned on, within settings.  Once these were turned off, the error cleared.  This isn't an ideal fix, as you certainly want to have the option of setting restrictions on an iPad for safety reasons and now this iPad does not have this turned on.  Anyhow, I'd be interested in finding out if this solves your issue as well.

    Emma! You are a legend!

It is very weird as I have allowed that website in the restrictions and my other son has the exact same restrictions. So don’t know what is going on there!

But I took off the restrictions to log into that screen and then I turned them back on when past that screen and it’s working. That’s a workaround I’m happy to do for now I might end up deleting that page as allowed and hopefully it will prompt me to allow it again and then it should fix it (fingers crossed) but my he has ran off with iPad so it will have to wait lol.

    Thank you!!

Same issue here. It's the new update that came out recently. We have the iPad set to only allow specific websites, so I'm guessing there is a specific website we have to allow to make it work.

daniel schuster Did you try the recommended steps above? As for URLs to allow through, you can find our list here: URLs Used by Minecraft Education – Minecraft Education

Justin, I did try the above steps and it didn't work. The list of URLs is a great help, though. Thank you! Wow, that's a lot of websites.

We have had similar issues for a fair few weeks now.

We can login and run Minecraft but the students are unable to join each other's worlds.

I have whitelisted all the suggested urls etc but it is still an issue.

We ran a slightly older version on a iMac and macbook and it worked, sadly we can't do this on the iPads.

    Hey Joe,

Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with multiplayer. We are seeing a trend of multiplayer issues since the update and we are gathering info to help resolve.

Please ensure everyone is on the latest same latest version. It will just take one that is not on the latest update, joinee or host, to make things behave unexpectedly.

What is the make / model / OS version of the joinee and host?

If you're willing to do a packet capture / Fiddler trace, I can make a ticket for us and we can talk more there.

    Let us know!

  • We have the same issue.  Prior to the 1.19 update there was no issue with hosted worlds; students could access the join code to create collaboratively.  Now students can't join a world a teacher is hosting, even simply one student with another in pairs (for example, one student hosting his or her world for another student to join).  Teachers and students are using the same version - 1.19.52

We have had our network administrator reboot the wifi, as we thought we were having connectivity issues, but that was not the case.  We received the same message about "Connection Timed Out".  Teachers are trying to host their Civilization Build World using a Lenovo laptop, students are on their Lenovo Chromebooks.  Students are getting a message, "Connection Timed Out ... Connection Lost"  We're also finding when user tries to "Stop Hosting" and "Save & Exit", the world, she is trying to save and exit, is in limbo (not saving and exiting) as noted in previous posts.  Then  the device needs to be rebooted because MinecraftEdu will not load.

Can we access earlier versions prior to 1.19 in which we didn't have these issues?

Thank you for being patient. All updates will be posted here: Unable to sign in - Native Client File – Minecraft Education. If there are no updates when you check then we are still working with DOEs and IT admins to isolate the issue further and fixing it. This error is due to schools' infrastructure that is secure but preventing proper communication.
