This may be due to blocks on the hosts network or the one you are connecting through. It can also be if you are trying to connect to someone that is not part of the same school/tenant as you. In order to play together you must be part of the same tenant. Talk to someone that can make changes on your network to see if blocks can be found and removed.

Sorry for that. I meant that an antivirus program or a network filter is blocking communication. You can run network scans to see some of this but changes most likely will need to be made and unless you have experience doing this you can cause issues on your network.

Are you on your home network or are you on a school network?  Do you have Education edition through your school?
What type of device are you using?

You mention that you have been able to join multiplayer worlds when everyone is on the same wifi but you are not able to join multiplayer worlds when it involves a different network.  This is what caused Dominick to say that there may be some setting in your network that is blocking the connection.  Without knowing more about the network you are on, it is difficult for us to help you with it.

It is not uncommon for school networks to have a lot of security that may not let you connect to an outside network without them making special provisions for it.  Or if you home network has very strong firewall rules that limits outside connections.
Figuring this out probably requires the assistance of whoever is the administrator of the Networks involved.

For example when we are all on a school network, it works, but if we are all at home using different networks, it. doesn't.
