My game is saying "Locating Server" cant join.
Cant join my friend cool map because it says foreever that "generating world" and under that l"ocating server". after 15-30 mins it will say "unable to connect to the world. Please check your connection to the internet and try again." and i have tryed it but still says"locatiing server"

Sorry to hear you are running into some issues.
Are you and your friend both on the same domain?
Are these school issued devices / accounts or are they personal ones?

If you are both on the same domain as per Danny in the earlier reply, I would also check that you are running the same version.
When this happened to us, we closed Minecraft completely on the machines that could not join and reopened it so that the latest version could be installed and everyone got right in. That was on Windows 11 desktops.
If you are on iPads, you may need to update from the app store to make sure everyone is on the latest version of Minecraft Edu.

We are not on the same network/domain. But last week it worked on different domains. These are school made personal accounts. When i try to join i just float somewhere and my display name is not displayed. I appear in the player list but he cant teleport or kill me!

Is this only occurring on that world or is this happening to you in any hosted world? You may need to remove mods, change your video settings to a low setting, or there could be a filter installed on your device that the school uses.

This has happened to us a few times and we needed to let Minecraft Edu update itself.
Can you verify that all devices are running the latest version?
