One Friend Unable to Join My Hosted World Due to Infinite "Locating Server"
Hello,
I am hosting a world on Minecraft Education Edition version 1.18.45 for me and my friends to play on. This is hosted on my home internet connection, which I have configured port forwarding on according to the Multiplayer Game Guide. Some people have already successfully joined my world. However, there is one friend that is unable to join the world due to being stuck on the "Locating Server" screen. The weird thing is that it is only this specific world that will not let him join. He is able to join any other hosted world. I also tried giving the world file to someone else to host, and the same problem persisted.
This world that I am hosting was created several months ago, and at that time, this friend was able to connect to the server just fine. After a couple months break, I hosted the server again but this time the friend could not join due to the "locating server" problem. This problem occurs whether by joining through code or through connection ID. After entering the code, the popup correctly displays the server name and hoster, but after clicking continue, "Locating Server" is shown indefinitely (or for at least 20 minutes). On my (the world host) end, I do not see a "player joined" message, but I am able to see him in the player list. However, I cannot teleport to him, with the error being the "player does not exist". After around 30 seconds, a "player left" message will display in the chat, even though there was no "player joined" message.
When asked if he did anything to his Minecraft installation, he said that all he did was uninstall it and then reinstall it. Attempting to fix the problem, he reinstalled several more times, but to no avail. He also attempted the following fixes:
- Connecting to a different Wifi router
- Using a hotspot connected to mobile data
- Joining on mobile (same problem)
- Port forwarding 19132 on his router
- Clearing cache
- Checking firewall settings (Minecraft is allowed on public and private)
- Checking connection to https://meeservices.azurewebsites.net/ (able to reach)
- Checking game version (same version)
Things I have tried:
- Hosting a copy of the world (same problem)
- Getting someone else to host the world (same problem)
- Trying to connect to a world hosted on the friend's computer (I can join)
Thanks for the help.

I too have this problem, in addition some of my friends are recieving a, "this game code does not exist" message, while I am hosting, it has the same criteria as this issue.

Typically I can solve this problem by having all computers quit Minecraft and launch again.

It may be saying the code does not exist if the user you are trying to play with is not part of the same @domain/tenant. Users must be part of the same tenant in order to play together. This is a security feature that cannot be bypassed.
