Students can spawn villagers despite mob spawning turned OFF
While playing in my custom built world on Edu, my students were able to spam our world with villagers and wandering traders (hundreds of them) despite the fact that I had disabled mob spawning in the settings. They were set as Members because I wanted them to interact with the NPCs in the world, but it was really annoying that they were still able to spawn entities when I had disabled it. What can I do in the future to prevent this? Is this a bug or is there something I can do on my end?

Hey Astrid Turner
If your students have access to creative mode then they are likely spawning these villagers with Villager Eggs which are in the creative menu. You can disable all mobs (this will also delete all existing mobs/entities that currently exist) by going into Settings > Classroom > Disable Mobs .
This should return peace to your classroom once again! Let me know if they're still able to spawn mobs after this, but that should work.2 -
do you want them to have access to the creative inventory for this "lesson"? If you do not want/need them in creative mode, just put everyone in Adventure or Survival Mode.
Justin, Does toggling Allow Mobs to false remove the NPCs? If it does then that would be a problem for a world with NPC set up for interaction.0 -
Depending on how the world is setup at time of creation and if the mobs are already there, the NPCs will stay after using that toggle. In order to remove them you would need to re-enter creative mode and manually delete them or fight them in game.
