Translate self made blocks
Hi,
for some lessons we use custom made blocks (through a pxt-extention in our tutorial repo).
We also provide translations for those new blocks and those translations work fine in the regular online minecraft-make-code environment but not in minecraft education edition itself.
Does anybody have experience with this?
Are we missing a small detail in a json file or something?
PS: our 'regular translations' (NPC's, dialogues, titles etc...) work just fine.

Hi, Frank! I don't work with custom build stuff much. =] It sounds cool, though! Dani Noble any thoughts on this?

Hi Frank,
Can you clarify... blocks as in block coding or blocks as in custom blocks for building?

It's block for coding. We've made our own category of coding blocks in the codemaker where we can define blocks ourselves (like functions), This is handy for simplifying solutions for beginners and let them focus on the things that are important for that lesson. I include 3 images: The code we use, how the translation works in a regular browser and how the translation doesn't work in Minecraft Education. Our custom blocks are light blue in these images.
Thanks a lot for helping!

At a guess, I suspect the browser uses a different translation system than the game does.
Whether that's something that can be corrected or not, I couldn't tell you.
As more of a technical issue, I'd recommend submitting a ticket to the support team.

Thanks, both of you, for clarifying! there is always more to explore and learn!
