I should also mention that it takes up a significant amount of memory, around 500 - 700 MB.

That is very strange. I assume this is on Windows OS? Which version? How long does your world run before you start to experience these issues? And are you doing coding or redstone in these worlds? Lastly, are there other users joining this world?

When I had a similar issue, it was because the graphics card software on my PC had cranked up several settings on Minecraft to max levels.  I finally found the video settings had the render distance all the way up.

This is how my video settings look now and it's been smooth ever since:

Maybe check your settings and see if anything jumps out as a performance killer.

Also, what is your render distance/simulation distance set to?  And do you have extra ticking areas running?

Hi there, I am on a Windows OS. It is Windows 10 Home, version 22H2. My world is able to run for about a minute before I am kicked with an error message. I am not doing coding, it is survival. I do have redstone contraptions that are not running as of right now. There is one other person playing on the world with me, they do use an iPad instead of a computer though.

Also, here is a screenshot of the error message, if it helps:

How much Ram does your PC have?  How much free space do you have on the hard drive?
It sounds to me like there may not be enough resources to allow minecraft to save your world and hence why it is crashing.

Either Minecraft is using more resources than it should OR your computer just doesn't have enough resources to handle Minecraft, any other programs that are running, and the operating system.
You might look at what the task manager has to say about resource usage.

Hi, I have 7.70 out of 8 GB of ram free. I also have around 80 GB of free space on my hard drive. It isn't only Minecraft that drives my CPU up. Other games do too. I just find that only Minecraft crashes.

You may wish to check what applications are running at startup and perhaps disable ones you do not need in order to have more ram and CPU free to handle the games.
On lower resource computers you need to make sure you are only using the apps you absolutely need while playing games that tax your computer resources.
    For instance
I have one older computer that has 4 GB of memory (at least 1.3 GB available) and I am able to run Minecraft Education edition on it, I need to make sure that almost no other apps are running on that computer while I run Minecraft Education Edition.  I set Render Distance down to minimum and I am able to run it as long as I'm doing basically vanilla without lots of big texture packs and stuff.  I generally have not used that one for very large worlds and I'm sure it could be lagged out by some one going crazy with TNT or mobs or lava.

I have another PC that we use most for our Hosted Multiplayer worlds.  It has 16 GB of Ram, it is pretty fast 3.4 GHz and has a 1 TB SSD.  That computer restarts in seconds and I can run lots of heavy apps along with running minecraft education edition and have not had any problems with speed or lagging that can't be explained by the P2P instability of Minecraft.

If you only have 0.3 GB of memory available, that may well be where your problem is.

Is Minecraft CPU or GPU intensive? If Minecraft Education Edition takes up too much CPU, try closing other programs or reducing the graphics settings in the game to improve performance. You can also try updating your graphics card drivers or upgrading your computer's hardware if it's not powerful enough to run the game smoothly.
