    Hey Hannah!

Sorry you are running into this error. I asked the team and I will report back with any news.

What type of PC and OS are you on?

Does it happen on other networks as well or just the school network?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I am getting the same error on my sons ipad. I have the latest version installed and it has happened over my phone hotspot internet as well as the internet connection at school. I have tried to separate accounts as well (1 student account and my teacher account) with the same results.

Didn't think multiplayer would be so hard.

    Hello!

The students are using Acer Chromebook Spin 311 (R721T). The OS version is  ChromeOS 105.0.5195.134. This has only been reported to be happening on the school's network. If the students are on a Laptop (ex. Dell Latitude 5420) they can access everything on the same network as the Chromebooks.

    Thank You for the help!

I have seen this happen a couple of times.  It happened on the Windows 10 Dell desktop I use for Hosting a couple of times.  I had the restart the computer I think to clear it.  Just restarting Minecraft didn't work.

We were experiencing this at my School District as well. Turns out our network filter was blocking access to xforgeassets001.xboxlive.com and xforgeassets002.xboxlive.com. Allowing them through appears to have solved the problem.

I am sorry that the P2P error is occurring. We are still investigating the P2P issue and trying to gather information. To clarify, is your client version at 1.18.42?

    1. Make sure that //*. minecraft-services.net/has been allow listed through firewall and content filters
    •    The signaling connections use wss://signal.franchise.minecraft-services.net
    •    The STUN and TURN connections use turn.azure.com / world.relay.skype.com on the 20.202.0.0 / 16 IP range using remote TCP port 443 and remote UDP ports 3478-3481
    •    The peer-to-peer connections between host and joining client use local ephemeral UDP ports specified by the host client (the local port range is defined by the OS) and sent to the joining client via the signaling service
    • Our system now uses ephemeral ports. They will need to be unblocked.
    1. Can you tell me if this is device specific or is this happening to everyone and how often?
    2. Try toggling the Cellular Data setting to on with tablets, Chromebooks, android phones and iOS phones.
      1. It's a setting under Profile on all devices.

Let us know if any of this helps.

    Our client is at 1.18.42.

This is having to every Chromebook in our district. This happens every time they try to use the same world created by the teacher on her laptop. If she switches to a Chromebook, she can not connect to a world or create one.

Hey Hannah, thanks for the info and sorry you are running into this issue.

This is still one the test team is investigating.

Just wanted to confirm, did we try one of the problem devices on a different network and it worked fine?

The same issue is working for me and my friends. Hosting is not working worldwide I think it might just be a problem in Minecraft Education Edition's database but other than that I'm not sure.

I just started having this issue today. I will try restarting my computer to see if it works because that is a simple fix that will probably work. If not, hopefully this will be fixed soon.

I had the error come up yesterday afternoon.  This time I know our connection was rock solid and fast but it wasn't letting me open a world on the host computer (Windows 10 Dell desktop).  I restarted the computer and was able to open that world.

Our district is running 1.18.42 on Windows devices and are having the same issue. I connected one computer to a cellular network without any firewall or network filter enabled and I still had the issue.

We did everything Dominick said at my school, and we still get the error. My IT guys even watch the IP access live and can't see anything blocked when trying to host a world. I did get it to work by hotspotting to my phone just to test the connection. We are all lost on how to fix the issue.  All my pc's are Win 10

    Hey Aaron,

Sorry to hear you are still experiencing the issue. If you are willing, I can make a ticket for us and we can dig deeper by sending us a video reproduction of the error.

The same issue is happening to my friends and I as well. We can't host the game but can still make a world and solo play on it. How can this be fixed?

I am having the same issue on a Windows OS. Will try the listed info. If any resolution will it be addressed here?

We will post when hotfixes or Betas for users to try out that may help this issue, but the P2P error is the generic message stating that something is happening with the communication to our servers and your network. After going through the steps listed, we may need to create a ticket for you, but you will need access to make changes to the device and network to fully work through the issue.

We are having the same issue across different devices, Chromebooks, Windows 10, and MacOS. We have whitelisted all recommended addresses in this thread and we still cannot Host or Join a game. I had our WAN watch the firewall and the specific IP i was using to see if anything came up as denied and we didnt see anything. He even set the rule to a free-for-all and I still could not Host or Join.

I'm going to try downgrading to version 1.17.32.0 on Monday and see if that works because I know it wasnt an issue in the past and the only change I can think of was we updated to the newest version.

We also released a new Beta build today. If you are willing, try downloading the Beta and see if it changes anything. Thank you for trying things to find a solution.

The beta worked for me. We were experiencing the error on windows 11 pro version 10.0.22000 Build 22000 but the beta does not seem to exhibit the issue so far.

I updated to version 1.18.42 and am still getting the Sig error.

I also did try to roll back to Version 1.17.32 but when I try to host, it looks like its loading, then the program closes.

    Hey there JP,

The newest Beta is 1.19.50 is dropping today (not quite released yet when Dominick messaged)

Let us know how it goes when you are on that version and if it solves the issue!

    Danny,

Thank you! I guess I was jumping the gun, We will try it tomorrow and I'll be looking for that version.

Unfortunately we tried it on a couple different windows machines and we still get the P2P/SIG error using 1.19.50.0 when trying to host a new world or the tutorial world.

  • Barrett Karish

1.19.50 still shows the same error when attempting to host a world for me as well.
