Known Issues
Coding
- MakeCode and Tynker may not function as expected (code doesn’t complete, some commands don’t run at all). If you see any issues please let us know by posting in our Beta Feedback forum.
- The export and save code window in MakeCode can occasionally become unresponsive.
- Code Builder on latest versions of Chromebook may have unexpected shapes, blocks and discoloration over the coding window
Multiplayer
- It’s not currently possible to join a multiplayer session using “Join by IP”, use Join Codes instead
- If you are unable to connect to a multiplayer world, try restarting Minecraft and please let us know if you encounter any errors trying to connect by posting in our Beta Feedback forum.
Mobile:
- There may be some on-screen buttons or windows that don’t display correctly on smaller phone screens. If you see any strange screens or buttons that overlap with one another, please take a picture and report it to us.
- Losing or disconnecting from internet while in a world on Android may cause a crash.
Photos, Book & Quill:
- Some photos may not display correctly and may appear to be missing when viewed or exported using the Book & Quill
- Photo items may not display correctly while in multiplayer
Other:
- Switching from the beta (1.18.30) back to a previous build (1.17.32) can cause Minecraft to crash when loading a world. Manually deleting the options.txt file will resolve this
- Hour of Code 2019 and Lessons in Good Trouble may not work correctly in Demo mode
- Rapid resizing of the application on Chromebook may cause a crash
- Chalkboards created in older versions (1.17.32 and earlier) may not be editable in the beta
